A number of years ago I drew “Branch Encounter” (lower image) with a limited palette of terracotta pastel, white charcoal, and graphite on Lokta paper, which was recently sold. I thought I would revisit the image with “Branch Encounter II” executed in gouache and charcoal which adds a fuller expression of color.
